Brian Jeffery Plonski, loving husband, and father of two children, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Saturday, Aug. 12. He is survived by his wife, Tawhnee, and children Jaden and Jocelyn.

Plonski was an ReMA member and commercial director at Northern Metal Recycling – EMR. He served as ReMA chapter president for the prior Wisconsin Chapter from 2018 to 2020 and then continued as chapter president from 2020 to 2021 under the newly formed Upper Midwest Chapter. Additionally, he was active in numerous committees over the years ranging from ReMA Membership, Finance, Government Relations and the State Subcommittee. He was also an avid supporter of the Recycling Education and Research Foundation and served on the board from 2018 to 2020.

Plonski was also extremely active in his community, serving the Eagan High School Athletic Community, including five years as board president for the girls basketball team. He was also Eagan TV’s as the much loved in-game announcer — referred to as ‘the voice of an angel.’

“The impact of losing Brian’s strong character and magnetic personality will be felt by all who met him, and his memory forever engrained in our hearts,” said Plonski’s family.

Dedicated friend and co-worker to many in the recycled materials industry. In lieu of flowers, Plonski’s family asks people to join them in a celebration of his life. Events will be held on Friday Aug. 18 in Minnesota and at the end of August in his birthplace of Ohio.
