About the Indiana Chapter

The Indiana Chapter connects recyclers, consumers, and equipment and service providers with industry news through meetings and events designed to strengthen business locally. Our chapter also works to advocate for the best interests of our industry at both local and national levels. Meetings and social events are held to bring members of the industry together in an environment in which they can learn and grow, all while having a good time. It is no exaggeration to say that many ISRI members’ closest business relationships began at the chapter level. To learn more about the work of our chapter and how to get involved, please contact us.

Our Value Proposition includes:

  • The Indiana Chapter coordinates with local and state legislators, the Indiana Secretary of State, prosecutors, and law enforcement agencies to maintain dialogue on issues affecting our industry. We actively echo ISR’s concern that scrap is not waste, showing the industry’s contribution through employment and civic endeavors and demonstrating our members’ environmental responsibility.

  • The chapter actively works to advance industry awareness as well as to assist with metals theft enforcement in the state of Indiana. Members are regularly briefed and informed on how to use scraptheftalert.com, an ISRI resource covering the United States and Canada that allows for alerts and scrap theft reporting.

  • We provide leadership opportunities within the chapter such as serving on our board of directors, participating on a chapter committee, or serving as an officer.

  • Annual chapter scholarships are awarded to students who are dependents of Indiana Chapter Active Members. Scholarships awards are based on altruism/extra-curricular activities, academics, and financial need.

  • Members receive discounts and reduced registration rates, as well as access to member-only events throughout the year. The chapter hosts a number of events ranging from golf tournaments, sport outings to fundraisers – all of which allows for networking, idea exchanges, and recruitment. The opportunity to forge close business relationships and personal friendships with others in our industry is what makes ISRI Indiana membership especially rewarding.
