Mayfield Heights, Ohio-based Beck Aluminum Corp. rejoined ISRI in August. The company distributes a wide array of primary, secondary, primary equivalent aluminum and master alloy products that are produced both domestically and abroad. Beck Aluminum also provides secondary processing of recycled scrap to meet customer end use criteria.
“Beck Aluminum hopes to re-establish connections with former business partners, develop new relationships within the ISRI family and add value and credibility to existing scrap and consumer member network of ISRI,” says Geoffrey Beck, vice president of administration.
In addition to distributing thousands of tons of secondary and primary equivalent alloys, Beck Aluminum’s recycling division converts millions of pounds of its customers’ toll scrap back into useable aluminum products each month. Beck Aluminum operates secondary smelters in in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Texas.
The company is International Standards Organization (ISO) 9001 certified and it complies with all Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) and ISO and International Automotive Task Force (IATF) requirements to provide seamless interaction between customer and supplier to ensure effective PPAP submissions.
At the end of World War II, founder Paul Beck left his job as chief metallurgist for Alcoa Casting Division in Cleveland to become an independent consultant for producers of high-quality aluminum alloy castings. By 1950, Paul recognized the need for higher quality raw materials and subsequently built and ran his own aluminum smelter for Northeast Ohio. In 1956, Paul’s son, Gerald, joined the company. In 1973, Paul Beck retired and in 1978, Scott Beck joined the family business after completing training as a metallurgical technician.
Scott Beck was instrumental in expanding Beck Aluminum’s territory throughout Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and Canada. In 1985, Bryan Beck joined his father and brother to expand Beck Aluminum’s territorial growth to include the entire eastern U.S., Canada, and Mexico. The Company continued to prosper by responding to changes in the aluminum marketplace and in 2007 and 2019, the fourth generation of Beck Aluminum, Geoffrey Beck, and Wyatt Beck, joined the Company.
Congress has recognized Beck Aluminum for its innovative workforce initiatives and hiring of veterans. The company also received Supplier of the Year awards from Bombardier Recreational Products, Aisin Corp., and other original equipment manufacturers.
Beck Aluminum always tries to find ways to support the greater Cleveland community. Most recently, the company sponsored the 2022 Sunset Sprint 5K/10K hosted by the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission on Sept. 9.
