This summer, ISRI’s Director of Law Enforcement Outreach Todd Foreman, ReMA Chair Brian Henesey and Rocky Mountain Chapter President Ben Rosen attended the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy Associates, Inc. (FBINAA) 56th Annual National Training Conference in Denver, Colorado. ISRI’s continuing program to build strong partnerships with law enforcement at all levels is a key priority.

“FBINAA was an excellent opportunity to meet with law enforcement leaders from across the country to discuss resources available through ISRI,” said Foreman. “We were able to communicate what the recycled materials industry is doing to assist law enforcement in deterring metals thefts and how we can help in the future.”

More than 1,600 law enforcement professionals attended. ReMA was on-site with an exhibit and to speak with attendees personally, which netted many future outreach opportunities for ISRI. The attendees of FBINAA are mid to upper-level leaders in law enforcement including local, Sheriff’s offices and state police.

“It’s important for law enforcement to meet ReMA representatives who put a face to the industry. When we meet law enforcement professionals in-person, we not only explain the benefits of a partnership with ReMA and local recyclers, but we walk them through our two online resources, stopmetalstheft.com and scraptheftalert.com, so they can see how ReMA can come alongside them,” added Foreman.

The FBINAA is a nonprofit membership organization that is dedicated to impacting communities by providing and promoting law enforcement leadership through training, education and networking.

Foreman’s next events include exhibiting and presenting at the International Association of Crime Analysts later this month and exhibiting with Pull Apart at the International Association of Auto Theft Investigators in September.
