In March, the Securities and Exchange Commission approved a landmark ruling that requires climate related disclosures for publicly traded companies. An SEC expert will share their insights into the ruling and how it will impact the U.S. recycled materials industry. In the second half of the webinar, staff will provide a walkthrough of ISRI's new ESG toolkit--a free member resource to help recycled materials companies integrate ESG into their business strategy and practices.

Kiera Gittins is a Senior Sustainability Program & Data Analyst at Radius Recycling (formerly Schnitzer Steel), commended for her exceptional contributions to the company's sustainability initiatives. She oversees data collection and analysis for 100+ sites across the US and Canada, driving continuous improvement efforts at each stage of the metal recycling process. Kiera played a key role in Radius Recycling's achievements over the past three years, including surpassing their 2025 emissions goal nearly two years ahead of schedule, securing 100% net carbon-free electricity for three consecutive years, achieving ISO 14001 certification at several sites, and obtaining recognition as the #1 Most Sustainable Company in the World by Corporate Knights in 2023. Her strategic insights and proactive approach have positioned Radius Recycling as a leader in sustainable practices. Beyond work, Kiera is an active volunteer, showcasing her dedication to making a positive impact. She also enjoys painting and hiking with her husband, toddler, and two chihuahuas.

David Hirschler, Chief Sustainability Officer, ERI

David Hirschler is the Chief Sustainability Officer at ERI, the nation’s leading recycler of e-waste. David is responsible for ERI’s internal and external sustainability and circularity initiatives as well as ERI’s legislative responsibilities covering the gamut of producer responsibility regulations through data protection regulations. In addition, David serves as president of the board of FABSCRAP, a nonprofit organization focused on the recycling and reuse of commercial textile waste. David has worked in the recycling field for more than 20 years and holds a Master’s Degree in Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning from Tufts University.
