Last week at E-Scrap in New Orleans, ISRI hosted two very well attended workshops sessions concerning the safe handling of lithium-ion batteries and best practices for e-scrap and ITAD businesses.
About 190 people attended the first session moderated by Craig Boswell along with Todd Ellis and Tod Coy. The presenters spoke about how to handle these batteries and what to do during a ‘thermal event.’
In the second workshop attended by over 165 people with Jim Levine, Dag Adamson, and Peter Schnidler, the audience learned many lessons about starting and operating an e-scrap business as products and services are rapidly changing. Additionally, ISRI Research Analyst Bernie Lee participated on the industry trends session and Chief Lobbyist Billy Johnson discussed possible federal CRT legislation and the important role of standards. Through these conferences, ISRI illustrated its industry leadership in these sessions and demonstrated the value of ISRI membership.
