USPS Concerned About Recycling In Wake of China Ban

The United States Postal Service (USPS) is concerned about the potential impacts of China’s recycling import ban on the recycling of undeliverable standard mail. In order to find the appropriate market consumers, the questions on proper grade classification of undeliverable standard mail has also been raised.

The USPS would like to maximize the revenue from recycling their undeliverable standard mail throughout the U.S. and is interested in recommendations from ISRI and its members. Representatives of the USPS are tentatively scheduling a visit with the Paper Division at one of the upcoming Board of Directors meetings.
