ISRI confirmed two additional internationally recognized speakers to serve on panels at its MRF Summit, Aug. 22-23 in Nashville.
Simon Ellin, CEO of The Recycling Association, will speak at the Aug. 23 panel titled, “Single Stream vs. Dual-Stream vs. Multi-Stream Collection.” In that 9 to 10:30 a.m. session, Ellin will comment on what he calls the recent “recycling revolution” in the United Kingdom and The Recycling Association’s Quality First campaign, which seeks to “change the culture of recycling by creating supply-chain responsibility and partnership,” he says.
Bill Moore, president of Moore & Associates, will speak at the MRF Summit’s closing Aug. 23 session, titled “Looking to the Future,” from 10:45 a.m. to 12 p.m. Moore, an expert on the paper recycling market, will touch on current paper-related trends such as material contaminants entering MRFs, the effect of e-commerce on increasing OCC in the MRF incoming stream, the pros and cons of maximizing OCC separation at the front end of MRFs, target prohibitive levels in MRF-produced mixed paper, U.S. domestic mill use of mixed paper, and the emergence of potential domestic and export mixed paper pulping units.
The MRF Summit, a joint event of ISRI and the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA), will be held in conjunction with SWANA’s WASTECON. Visit the MRF Summit webpage to view the schedule and register.
