The National Lieutenant Governors Association unanimously adopted a resolution at its 2018 Annual Meeting that establishes the Public Leadership in Recycling Award in partnership with ISRI.
The resolution recognizes that many of the 50 states’ second-in-command public office holders play key roles in issues related to conservation, sustainability, reuse, and recycling in the United States and the territories. As such, the NLGA and ISRI have joined together through the NLGA public-private sector program to create this national recycling award. The award will be given in recognition of an NLGA member who is committed to working within the state, region, and/or communities to positively impact resource conservation and recycling. The first award will be announced at the 2019 Annual NLGA meeting.
