U.S. Commerce Secretary Concludes Visit to China with No Trade Agreement

U.S. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross visited China last week for discussions intended to resolve trade disagreements between the United States and China. President Trump’s announcement last week to move ahead with imposing “Section 301” tariffs on $50 billion worth of Chinese products heightened tensions ahead of Ross’s visit, which reports claim to have led to an “impasse” in the talks.

ISRI continues to follow closely the interactions between the two governments as we advocate for the lifting of tariffs and other trade policies that restrict trade between the United States and China.
