The long-awaited rulemaking by FMCSA setting the 2018 fees was published on January 5, 2018.
Carriers may complete their registrations online at UCR Registration.com. The new UCR fees for 2018 represent about a 9 percent decrease in the level of fees that have been in place since 2010. All interstate for-hire and private motor carriers, as well as brokers, freight forwarders, and leasing companies that operate in a participating UCR state are required to annually register and pay UCR fees.
State enforcement of the UCR program commonly begins January 1. Since the 2018 registration was delayed, the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) has agreed not to enforce the requirement for 90 days after the fees go into effect - until April 5, 2018. This gives motor carriers and others subject to UCR three months to complete their 2018 registrations. If you have questions about UCR related services and fees, you may call UCR Filings.com at (800) 761-7308 or by email, and if you need any transportation safety assistance, contact ISRI’s Transportation Safety Director, Commodor Hall.
