For its first 27 years, ISRI held its annual convention and exposition in various cities around the United States.
But for its 28th annual convention—in 2015--ISRI decided to try something different, a lot different, by holding its convention outside the United States for the first time, in Vancouver, British Columbia. The event, held April 21-25, set up shop in the Vancouver Convention Centre, which afforded stunning views across Burrard Inlet to the mountains of North Vancouver. Keynote speakers included former U.S. Secretary of Defense William Gates and writer/entrepreneur Stan Slap. Although the event attracted only 3,300 attendees, most agreed that Vancouver set the standard as the most scenic setting for an ISRI convention and the Vancouver Convention Centre was the most beautiful, most accommodating venue (with the best food!) of all previous ISRI conventions. Without a doubt, the 2015 convention was a historic occasion and an event to remember.
