On November 15, America Recycles Day, ISRI’s headquarters in Washington, DC hosted the 2017 State of Recycling Forum, attracting 75 stakeholders from around the country with an additional 191,000 viewers via online simulcast.
Now in its third year, the State of Recycling Forum is hosted annually by ISRI and Keep America Beautiful to provide an overview of the current opportunities and challenges facing recycling in the United States, as well as addressing critical topics that impact and can be influenced by industry stakeholders, government, and individuals. This year’s Forum was presented in partnership with Keurig Green Mountain.
This year’s theme was Plastics Recycling: Improving Quality. Driving Demand. It featured ISRI President Robin Wiener addressing the current state of plastics recycling including the impact of recent developments in China. Other panels addressed innovations within plastics recycling and engaging consumers in recycling and buying recycled content.
ISRI plans to use this Forum as a launching pad to work with key stakeholders to find solutions in the plastics recycling space.
More information about the Forum, including presentations and photos can be found online. Please direct any questions to Vice President of Communications and Marketing Bob Ensinger.
