Wisconsin Chapter Members Advocate for Equality in Rules on Scrap Vehicle Purchases

In its steadfast efforts to equal the playing field within the state for purchasing scrap vehicles, the Wisconsin Chapter put its support behind Wisconsin Senate Bill 246 (AB 339) which is designed to do this and more.

On October 24, 2017, Chapter President Darren Engbring testified before the Assembly Transportation committee in favor of the legislation that the chapter believes will not only bring everyone under the same rules, but will also resolve paying off auto loans/liens in a more efficient way, and clean up some of the state’s metals theft statutes. The testimony was well received and followed by a favorable vote out of committee on October 31, thus moving the legislation to the full Senate for consideration. ISRI commends the diligent advocacy efforts of the Chapter on this important issue and encourages anyone interested in learning more to contact the Wisconsin Chapter President Darren Engbring directly.
