U.S. Customs and Border Protection Delays ACE Implementation

In a Federal Register Notice last week, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced it would delay the date for the transition to the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) as the sole CBP-authorized electronic data interchange (EDI) system for electronic Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) admission applications to December 9, 2017 (and not September 16 as originally announced).

This means that in December, the Automated Commercial System (ACS) will no longer be a CBP-authorized EDI system for purposes of processing these filings.
