Driving Demand for TPO Auto Bumpers

ISRI continues to develop tools and materials to help ISRI members recycle TPO plastic bumper covers.
To date, ISRI has included scrap specifications in the Scrap Specifications Circular to help members engage in transactions for this commodity.

We are now engaged in negotiations with the Plastics Industry Association (PIA) to provide expertise to PIA’s Automotive End of Life Vehicles Recycling Demonstration Project. The goal of the ELV Project is to develop a method of collection and recovery of Thermoplastic Olefin (TPO) auto parts in a way that demonstrates technical and economic feasibility. Negotiations are well underway and we expect them to be concluded shortly. At that point, we will need assistance from ISRI’s members that shred automobiles. We ask that members that are interested in being part of this project to contact Jonathan Levy for more information.
