During a recent visit to Tacoma Washington for a Council of State Governments (CSG) Western Regional conference, ISRI staff met with ISRI’s Pacific Northwest Chapter’s Washington State lobbyist Holly Chisa who introduced ISRI to many of the state legislators who were there as hosts of the CSG meeting.
During the weekend event, Danielle Waterfield of ISRI toured the Schnitzer Tacoma recycling yard as state legislators have done at the behest of Holly’s advocacy at the state capitol. The tour included all facets of the operation from storm water management, barge offloading, ship loading, the company’s 7,000 horsepower shredder, and joint products operation. It is so valuable to see the positive impact that member companies make every day to the economy. ISRI wishes to thank the facility’s General Manager Raymond Wambaja for taking the time to provide such an informative tour.
