ISRI Showcases Metals Theft Resources at Mid-States Organized Crime Information Center Conference

On August 21 and 22, ISRI exhibited at the Mid-States Organized Crime Information Center (MOCIC) conference held in Green Bay, WI.

MOCIC is one of the six regions making up the nation-wide Regional Information Sharing System (RISS) network. ISRI recently partnered with RISS to make the ScrapTheftAlert.com (STA) system available to law enforcement through the RISS network.

The conference was attended by 275 law enforcement officers from nine upper mid-west states represented by MOCIC. David Borsuk, of ISRI Member Sadoff Iron and Metal, and Brady Mills, ISRI Director of Law Enforcement Outreach, provided officers with information on the RISS partnership, ISRI outreach and educational resources, and member cooperation to combat metals theft. Many of the officers were aware of the addition of STA as a service provider on the RISS network and wanted to know more on how the system operates.

For more information on ISRI’s efforts to combat scrap theft, contact Brady Mills.
