The National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) Legislative Summit in Boston set all kinds of records, proving again how it is the perfect stage among state policymakers for ISRI to demonstrate how recycling is much bigger than the bin and ISRI is the organization that represents the recycling industry.
This year, more than 2,000 legislators and staff attended the Summit which hosted more than 7,000 attendees. More than 50 ISRI members volunteered their time to show legislators all the facets of the recycling industry. The New England Chapter not only pulled out all the stops to bring a vibrant recycling exhibit to life, but it also incorporated a little slice of home into the event by sponsoring a visit from Wally, the Boston Red Sox mascot, during the ISRI sponsored exhibit hall lunch. Early reports already indicate several legislators requesting facility tours back in their home states as well as a few who have followed ISRI on various social media channels. ISRI wishes to thank the chapters and volunteers who all came together to make this event a success! Photos from the event can be viewed online.
