ISRI Time Capsule: Gaining Traction in Rubber Recycling

Throughout the 1990s, ISRI steadily stepped up its involvement in the scrap tire sector as the recovery and recycling rates for end-of-life tires increased dramatically.

June28LUTimeCapsuleIn 2001, ISRI made its most significant step forward in that sector when it merged with the National Association of Scrap Tire Processors (NASTP). That group’s tire recycling members joined ISRI and formed the Scrap Tire Processors Chapter as well as the Tire and Rubber Division, with former NASTP officers Mark Rannie and Bill Vincent serving as president and chair of those groups, respectively. The new national tire chapter gave ISRI 22 chapters overall.
