ISRI Continues Aggressive Outreach on China

ISRI staff continue to aggressively reach out to U.S. government officials to inform them of the potential for the Chinese government to impose import restrictions on scrap into China.

Key staff for U.S. Senate leaders responsible for trade showed concern for the possibility of disrupted trade and offered their support. Later this week, ISRI staff will meet with the Commerce Department senior officials responsible for the trade dialogue with China to ensure the Administration works with China to keep scrap trade open, free, and fair.

We do anticipate that the Chinese government will make an announcement in the coming weeks and will keep our members informed as information becomes available. Please keep an eye out for Member Alerts, and we will discuss in greater detail in a webinar on July 26. Please contact Adina Renee Adler with questions, comments and concerns.
