One membership benefit of the Paper Stock Industries Chapter and ISRI’s Recycling Research and Education Foundation is to annually award academic scholarships that help select college-bound students pay for their higher education.
The PSI Chapter has selected nine college-bound students as winners in its annual academic scholarship program. The chapter awarded a record $25,000 in scholarships this year, including one $5,000 grand-prize scholarship—its largest single scholarship ever—and eight $2,500 merit scholarships. Winning students are allowed to apply the scholarships toward tuition at any regionally accredited two-year or four-year post-secondary school for the 2021-2022 academic year.
This year’s winners, along with their sponsoring ISRI/PSI Chapter member company/location and the school they will attend, are as follows:
$5,000 Grand-Prize Scholarship Winner
Nathan Dummitt, Graphic Packaging International (Macon, Ga.); Georgia Institute of Technology.
$2,500 Merit Scholarship Winners
Jaden Johns, International Paper (Houston, Miss.); Mississippi State University.
Abigail Kodidek, Graphic Packaging International (Atlanta); University of Chicago.
Rory Perkins, Sims Metal Management (New York); Washington University in St. Louis.

PSI awards scholarships to select students who are graduating seniors and who are dependents of employees in the recycling division of PSI member companies. PSI awards a varying number of scholarships each year based on the funds available. In 2021, PSI will award one $5,000 grand scholarship and eight $2,500 scholarships, with winning students selected based on merit.
