Managing a recycling business brings on unique challenges and situations that aren’t taught in the typical business school environment. These challenges are daunting to seasoned professionals and for the uninitiated can be especially unnerving. To help new leaders navigate the minefields of leading a team, ISRI has developed its Leadership Development Program.
The purpose of the program is to take new leaders through several situations and scenarios that will help clarify how to handle situations and get the best from their team. The coursework of the program was developed by industry veterans who have decades of experience. With that in mind, the program will be taught from a recyclers “point of view”. At the end of the program, attendees will walk away with a deeper understanding of what it means to be a leader and how they can get the most out of their team.
We’ll cover topics such as:
- Financial Planning and Establishment of Objectives
- Building a Team
- Performance Based Leadership
- Personal Growth – Why Self-Improvement is Critical To Being a Good Leader
And while learning how to lead a team is the primary goal of the program, ISRI understands that the recycling industry continues to be built on a handshake and giving one’s word. As part of the program, participants will work with others in group projects and have the opportunity to meet and forge new relationships with their peers.
