The ISRI Circle of Safety Excellence (COSE) awards recognize and rewards member companies for outstanding commitment to the safety of their employees by instilling core safety values and exhibiting continuous improvement in safety programs and worker incident reduction.  Registration Period: January 1 – March 21, 2020 

COSE Occupational Awards

  1. Best-in-Class Award (Competitive Based):

    Granted to the COSE member company or facility with the lowest OSHA Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) for the previous calendar year. Award prizes will be presented in each of four class categories, determined by annual hours worked.


  2. Rising Star Award (Performance Based):

    Granted to the COSE member (facility only) that has achieved an OSHA Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) of 2.65 or less for the previous calendar year. Plaques will be presented in each of four class categories, determined by annual hours worked.


  3. Superior Achievement Award (Performance Based):
    Granted to the COSE member company or facility that has achieved an OSHA Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) of .75 or less for the previous calendar year. Awards will be presented in each of four class categories, determined by annual hours worked.

Entry Submissions

All Active ISRI members located within the United States and Canada, who process or consume scrap material and are committed to operating safely, are invited to submit their entries for the COSE Awards.
