Wisconsin ISRI Scholarship Fund

Scholarships will be to assist dependents of employees, the spouse of an employee, or an employee of member firms of the Wisconsin Chapter of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) in pursuing his or her undergraduate or graduate education.  In order to be eligible to receive a scholarship, an applicant must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  1. Applicant must be a dependent of an employee, the spouse of an employee or an employee of an active member firm in good standing, of the Wisconsin Chapter of ISRI.
  2.  Dependents of the Scholarship Committee, the Scholarship Committee and board members of the WISRI are not eligible to receive a scholarship.
  3. Applicant must be accepted and intend to pursue studies at an educational institution designed to meet the requirements for an academic or professional degree or certification conferred by a college, university, or other accredited school as listed by the U.S. Department of Education.
  4. Please provide us with an essay stating the following:  How has recycling impacted your life and how do you see recycling impacting the future?

The selection of the scholarship recipients shall be made by the Scholarship Committee of the Wisconsin Chapter of ISRI based solely on objective criteria which include prior academic performance, recommendations from teachers and others, and a personal history provided as part of the application.

In order to be considered for a scholarship, the attached application must be completed in its entirety and mailed to Darren Engbring, Chairman of the 2014-2015 WISRI Scholarship Committee at Post Office Box 369, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53201.  Applications must be submitted no later than May 1, 2015 for maximum consideration.
