Transportation

The scrap recycling industry is highly dependent on America’s transportation infrastructure to get its products to domestic and global markets.

Railroads

The U.S. scrap recycling industry is highly dependent upon rail service to transport recycled materials to both domestic and international markets

Trucks Weights

Raising the interstate weight limit will slow the growth of heavier trucks – making roads safer, greener, and less congested as America’s transportation needs grow.

Ocean Shipping

Ocean-based commerce through international and domestic shipping is a critical and growing component of the U.S. scrap recycling industry towards accessing global markets.

Rubberized Asphalt

Rubberized asphalt provides a safer, smoother and quieter road surface. In addition, the use of rubberized asphalt will provide an environmentally friendly way to draw down the nation’s stock of scrap tires which are currently being stored in illegal tire piles across the country. Eliminating this threat to human health and the environment has been a priority of the federal, state and local governments for decades. Additionally, the ability to ensure scrap tires are utilized in this environmentally friendly manner will contribute to a reduction in the production of green house gas emissions.
